a real update & 5 tips to get through a big life ‘lesson’

I was going to be launching something exciting this week but instead I have been quite unwell. I’m not usually one to be under the weather but this last week I have been completely out of sorts. I’ve been to three different Emergency Departments in four days. I have been on two different antibiotics, three different pain killers, a probiotic and herbal tablet to help me go to the bathroom (tmi – but that’s kinda my life).

It’s been a really hard week. Physically – because I couldn’t move far for two days. Mentally – because I knew all my goals have been set back and I had to ask for so much help to even reach for my tablets or even remember when I took my last one or for help to remember what day of the week it is. Spiritually – because I’ve been trying to nut out how I created this and how I can ensure it doesn’t happen again.

About a year ago I read this book called You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay. She talks about how every diseases (dis-ease) in the body is created from something in our mind. If that’s a little bit “woo hoo” for you, maybe get yourself a copy and sit through it. It’s a really great mind opener, mind widener and mind blower. In the book there is a section where it lists all of these “dis-eases” in the body and against it there is an affirmation. The affirmation is for you to release that thought pattern in your mind and let go of the dis-ease.

Since reading the book, when things pop up I refer to the book, read the affirmation until I heal. But this one is a repeat offender and I’m at my tether for it ever returning again.

I don’t really want to get into the nitty gritty because it’s all quite personal and I’m still in the midst of it all, but the aim of this post is to share that this ‘lesson’ I am learning is something that I created – because we create everything that is in our life. We have to take ownership of our life and the things we have and do and let go of the things that don’t serve us.

“In the infinity of life of where I am,
All is perfect, whole and complete,
I no longer choose to believe in old limitations and lack,
I now choose to begin to see myself
As the Universe sees me – perfect, whole, and complete.”
Louise Hay

I guess it’s a smack in the face to really actively live my life according to my goals, dreams, ambitions, values and desires.
I see this as an up-level of my entire life.
An up-level of my health. I can now see where where I can up level my own wellness habits and actions. This is everything from my sleep, to my nutrition, to my meditation, stress and everything in between.
An up-level of my movement. I can now see where I can increase the quality and results in my movement.
An up-level of myself. I can now see where I can put my attention towards and what needs more awareness and what needs more love.
An up-level of my entire life.

As un-well as I have been, I could just blame myself or blame others but I truely believe that everything in our lives happen for a reason and some times it’s a big lesson we had to learn.

From here, I am just going to aim to improve all aspects of my life and pick up any of the dull parts and shine some more love on them. If you’re thinking (because you know me) “Teagan you are already super healthy and exercise and meditate and do cold ocean swims and tongue scrap and all these things how could you possibly get healthier”, let me explain this.

No matter where we are in life, we can always do something better. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not going to start training like an athlete – that isn’t my goal. But it’s things like making sure I am sleeping 7+ hours every single night and staying strong to my night time routine. It things like keeping on top of my micronutrients and not becoming anaemic. It’s saying no when I want to say no & communicating what I really want to say. It’s those little 1%ers that can get left behind, that make all the difference and allow us to level up.

If you’re reading this and you’re thinking how everything is crashing around you, maybe you’re in the same situation. Maybe you’re due for a life up-level. You don’t have to be unwell, but maybe you have something that keeps popping up, something that just keeps happening. Take a good look at it. Have a look at Louise Hay’s book that I recommend and start affirming that everything is perfect as it is right now. Everything has its place and our past isn’t who we are today.

I thought I could write a little list for what has keep me positive, on track and uncovering all this in the midst of being under the weather.

5 Tips to get through a big life ‘lesson’

  1. Listen to your thought pattern. Change it to be positive. You are in control here. You become your thoughts.
  2. Accept it for what it is and make an action plan to move through it. Having an action plan helps you see through to the other side therefor moving you into the other side.
  3. Look it up in the Louise Hay book You Can Heal Your Life and affirm your thought pattern to a positive perspective.
  4. Chose to up-level. Each lesson we can either blame or we can accept and learn from. Decide that you deserve to up-level your life. You deserve the best of everything.
  5. Take action to do something better. Whether it be the words in your mind, sleep a solid 7 hours or eat a little healthier. Nothing will change if you don’t make a change.

Let me know if you’re in the same place or if you’ve been here before. I’d love to know your tips on moving through these big life lessons and what you have done to create change in your life and shift into an up-level.

Love & Peace
